The eruption of Mount Vesuvius, or simply 'Pompeii' was In 79 AD. Pompeii is located near the bay of Naples in Italy. The eruption lasted for 2 days and is considered one of the most deadliest eruptions of all time. After the eruption, Pompeii was covered in a mixture of volcanic lava and ash which buried and preserved it for many years. The city was then forgotten about and a few years later no one could remember the exact location of Pompeii, until the late 1700’s when it’s ruins were discovered.
